The Department of History of NSS College Manieri, came in to existence in 1965. Till the year 1992-93, the department handled pre-degree and Degree classes only. Department was upgraded in 1993-94 when M A history was started. It was further upgraded as Research Department in 2019 and the 6 Research scholars are pursuing their research. At present there are six permanent faculty members. The department follows, the syllabus prescribed by the University of Calicut.
