Department Details
The Department of Mathematics started functioning in 1980. The Department consists of 3 teachers and degree students. It is one of the most active and vibrant department of the institution. It is keenly associated with all spheres of activities of the college, academics as well as co-curricular activities. Its motto is education for all. The department imparts instructions so as to enable the students to comprehend the complex science of Mathematics.
The faculty members create awareness among students with regard to the various methods of approaching the subject by means of creating interest among them and employing methods which are helpful to remove the mantel barrier of even the students who are apprehensive of the complacence and intricacies of the subject. The paramount role of the department is to stimulate students which in turn make them studious and enterprising. To achieve this objective, attempts are made to increase the faculty of reasoning, develop logical mind and also instill interest for research in the subject. Our mission is to make the students aware that Mathematics is the mother of all sciences and forms the basis of study of any other sciences, whether it be Physical Science, Life Science or even Social Science. Without knowing basic Mathematics, no study is possible in any of the above mentioned branches. Students are also made aware of this necessity. Regarding co-curricular activities, the Department tries to develop individual personality, create awareness regarding environmental protection and make the students prepare themselves to become a useful social being doing service to science as well as humanity in general.
